Quietly Celebrating Life...

It's been a rough week.
My mother-in-law was not expected to live through the weekend.
We prayed.
And my husband has been by her side around the clock.
The kids miss him terribly.
And they are worried for their Memere.

I am trying to keep things as normal as possible for them.
Summer magic has taken a back seat to family strength and support.
I have moments when I lose my patience too easily.
And I have moments when ice cream excursions bring big smiles.

These are the times when you realize just how short life is.
And at the same time you grow to appreciate it's preciousness,
you hesitate to celebrate in the face of the reality of loss.
So... You celebrate quietly in the hugs and cuddles, in the  reading
of storybooks, and the watching of woodchucks through the kitchen window.

And while they watch.
I watch them.
And count my very many blessings...
